Effective theory for deformed nuclei

چکیده

Here, I ≥ I0 denotes the angular momentum, A is a constant determined by fit to data, and I0 is the spin of the band head under consideration. Rotational states are the lowestlying excitations in nuclei far away from closed shells. Our understanding of nuclear rotations is based on the groundbreaking work by Bohr and Mottelson [1], its extension within the general collective model [2], and the interacting boson model [3]. These phenomenological models describe a large body of experimental data. However, as with all models, they are unable to provide us with theoretical error estimates or with systematic ways of improvement.

Cranked Relativistic Hartree-Bogoliubov Theory: probing the gateway to superheavy nuclei

The cranked relativistic Hartree+Bogoliubov theory has been applied for a systematic study of the nuclei around 254No, the heaviest elements for which detailed spectroscopic data are available. The deformation, rotational response, pairing correlations, quasi-particle and other properties of these nuclei have been studied with different parametrizations for the effective mean-field Lagrangian. ...

v 1 2 0 O ct 2 00 4 Multi - deformed Configurations and Shape Coexistence for Superheavy Elements ∗

We use the considered axial deformed relativistic mean field theory to perform system-atical calculations for Z = 112 and 104 isotopic chains with force parameters NL3, NL-SH and NL-Z2 sets. Three deformed chains (oblate, moderate prolate and super-deformed chain) are found for Z = 112 and 104 isotopic chains. It is found that there is a chain of super-deformed nuclei which can increase the sta...

Eulerian rotations of deformed nuclei for TDDFT calculations

We discuss three practical methods for performing Eulerian rotations of Slater determinants in a three-dimensional Cartesian geometry. In addition to the straightforward application of the active form of the quantum mechanical rotation operator, we introduce two methods using a passive position-space rotation followed by an active spin-space rotation, one after variation and the other before va...

Nuclear Energy Density Functionals Constrained by Low-Energy QCD

A microscopic framework of nuclear energy density functionals is reviewed, which establishes a direct relation between low-energy QCD and nuclear structure, synthesizing effective field theory methods and principles of density functional theory. Guided by two closely related features of QCD in the lowenergy limit: a) in-medium changes of vacuum condensates, and b) spontaneous breaking of chiral...

Giant dipole resonance in deformed nuclei: dependence on Skyrme forces

P.-G. Reinhard Institut für Theoretische Physik II, Universität Erlangen, D-91058, Erlangen, Germany; [email protected] (Dated: October 11, 2006) Abstract The giant dipole resonance (GDR) in deformed nuclei is analyzed using the self-consistent separable random-phase-approximation (SRPA) with Skyrme forces SkT6, SkM, SLy6 and SkI3. The deformed nuclei Nd and U are used as r...

1 7 O ct 2 00 8 1 Deformations and clustering correlations in p - and sd - shell nuclei using the Gogny and Skyrme interactions

Structures of pand sd-shell nuclei are studied with the deformed-basis antisymmetrized molecular dynamics method using the Gogny D1S and Skyrme SLy7 forces as effective interactions. By the energy variation with a constraint, energy curves as functions of quadrupole deformation parameter β are obtained. The energy curves for sd-shell nuclei show structure change as a function of β, and suggest ...
